I bow to you
This is my first blog , and the idea came to me as my mind wandered during sesshin at Zen Mountain Monastery. The wandering is a bit unfortunate, but it has led to something good. At the end of an intensive weekend of sitting, we had a chance to voice what we had experienced, and I realized that I didn’t want to forget my own lessons. So, for those of you who are wondering about this thing called zen, or for those that may be thinking about getting more serious about your practice — get ready. I offer you some beginner insights on what it is like to go to a monastery, and some things that you may experience. If you know anything about this topic, the mere fact that I’m writing about it presents a problem. So, please forgive me as I try to explain something that ultimately cannot be explained through words. In the end, the only thing that matters is your own understanding. And so, I bow to you knowing that you are a Buddha (you just may not know it yet).
